        Latest Sunglass Technology

To fully enjoy all your outdoor activities, you need to be aware of the latest and greatest technology
that can be found in sunglasses. It’s always improving so you need to keep a close watch on what is
new to protect your eyes from the sun.

The eyeglass lens has come a long way. Lenses manufacturers now make polarized multi-layer
filtration and polycarbonate lenses for many varied applications. This new technology, called Xtreme
Lens Technology (XLT), works to block the harmful glare of the sun but does it without changing the appearance of colors. The lenses are coated with a multi-colored, iridescent mirror coating that
reflects light for some of the best anti-glare protection available. Yet the wearer of these optics only
sees a clear, glare-free view through the sunglasses.

Polarized Multi-Layer Filtration (MLF) technology lenses are made from one piece of distortion free,
high quality polycarbonate. What makes this technology unique is that there are no laminates that can
separate due to faulty bonding of layers, aging and exposure to temperature changes. With MLF the
lenses block vertically reflected light waves by horizontally aligning the crystalline structure of the
lenses. The MLF technology is a great choice of eyewear for many outdoor recreation activities such
as fishing, water skiing, cross country skiing or even when driving an auto or motorcycle.

To have shatterproof shades with zero distortion, the wise choice is polycarbonate lenses.
Polycarbonate lenses are also an excellent option for use in any lighting condition. The polycarbonate
technology was originally developed for use in bullet resistant glass in vehicles so you know it’s
durable and won’t break, shatter or even scratch. Another characteristic of polycarbonate material
is that it naturally absorbs UV light providing instant optical protection.  Because of these many
virtues, polycarbonate technology is the eye protection choice by many professionals.

Composite Shock Frames (CSF) is the latest in frame technology.  As the name implies these
sunglasses are constructed of a composite material which is light weight and balanced to prevent
them from unnecessary movement during periods of intense activity.  They are extremely durable and
flexible making them the obvious choice of competitive athletes, both professional and amateur.

Lenses can have different color coatings, each offering different advantages. Go for gray or gray-green
colored lenses for eliminating glare without losing your perception of colors. Brown and amber
colored lenses can block blue light that is prevalent on cloudy and overcast days easing the strain
on your eyes. Amber colored lenses are best for improving your contrast and depth perception in all
kinds of conditions. While yellow tinted lenses are also a fine choice for dreary, cloud covered days
as they help to enhance contrast and visual acuity. But clear lenses are standard for night vision or
low light conditions.
